Hi Margie, I saw Harriet Corbett over the weekend at an MHS reunion at East Lake Park, and couldn't wait to ask her if she or anyone else she knew still had the 1961 Asheville record. Ours was sat on and broken by a sibling back in the early 60s, and although I still have and treasure the double album from Pittsburgh in 1962, I seriously wanted to hear that 1961 performance again - especially after hearing that Mr. Bradley considered that his best band! Harriet hooked me up with your website, and I can't thank you enough for putting this website together and making the music available to us all. I love hearing American Salute again! And Midsummer Night's Dream, and Le Lac Des Cygnes! And even the 1958 record is familiar, as I remember we also played Colonel Bogey and A Night On Bald Mountain during our EAEB careers. (I played trombone, BTW, and my brother Richard played tenor sax). I remember Mr. Bradley always roaring up the back driveway through the playground at East Lake Elementary in that white Porsche he drove, and how all the guys would gather around that cool car! Many fond memories! Thanks again!

Yes, we were just ordinary kids who had an extraordinary opportunity to play beautiful music for Charlie Bradley! And, the recordings are tied to special memories for all of us! Thanks for your comments!

Thank you for including the recordings of our most special concerts. The memories that are tied to the music are worth more than I can say. We were the luckiest children in Atlanta to be part of Mr. Bradley's band!

Thanks for visiting and posting the link to Ron Burch's website, Graham. He has a great site, and one that is very informative! I have just started this site, but I've been intending to do it for ten years! I plan to add more content, but I'm having to dig through a lot of old boxes, so it is a "work-in-progress." I'm still getting all of the kinks out; I just corrected an email problem (i.e. the website failed to notify me when your comment was made; but that shouldn't happen again!). Stop by anytime and bring anyone who is interested in the EAEB.

Margie

I played in the eaeb from 1954 to 1958. During that time Patty Bradley played with us and was a very accomplished flute player. If you go the following link you can listen to a recording of the band playing in Atlanta City NJ in 1956. The music links are at the bottom of the writeup.

Graham Mobley graduated Mary Lin 1958.
