Dedication

This website and all of its contents are dedicated to the memory of Charles I. Bradley, Director of the East Atlanta Elementary Band. Mr. Bradley was born in 1915 in New Haven, Connecticut, but lived most of his life in Atlanta, Georgia, where he acquired 30 years of teaching experience and also directed bands at Emory University, the Lovett Schools, Kennesaw College, and the Callanwolde Concert Band. Charlie Bradley, as most called him, was principal flutist with the Atlanta Symphony Orchestra and was elected as Georgia Music Teacher of the Year. Under his direction, the East Atlanta Elementary Band performed for three MENC national conferences, at AASA Atlantic City, twice at the University of Southern Mississippi, the All-South Clinic on Jekyll Island, and for the White House Conference for Children in Washington, D.C., where the EAEB played before President Nixon. Mr. Bradley was also named GMEA Music Educator of the Year and was the first inductee of the Georgia Music Educators Association Hall of Fame in Savannah, Georgia. Charlie Bradley was the husband of Beverly  T. Bradley and the father of Patricia (Patti) Bradley Steele and the late James Albert (Jim) Bradley, who passed away in 2005. Charlie Bradley passed from this earth to his eternal reward in 1986.
